Membership

Founded in 1954, the Hyer Preschool Association (HPA) is an all-volunteer organization that connects and supports its members through its various activities.

  • Monthly newsletters
  • Events
    • Member events and meetings
    • Events for Parents and Children, including exclusive events for Incoming Kinders
    • Playgroups organized by Kinder year
    • Special Interest Groups: Book and Wine clubs, Community Engagement and HPA Cares

Families with preschool aged children (i.e., infant to incoming kinder) living within the Hyer Elementary School boundary map, we invite you to join this engaging and dynamic group.  The HPA is a 501(c)(3) organization; therefore, part of its membership dues are tax deductible and will benefit Hyer Elementary.

Membership renews annually on June 1; however, new members can join at any time throughout the year.  Note: New membership after January 1 will be pro-rated.  Memberships will be active through May 31 of the following year.  Renewal notices are generated on June 1. 

Member Requirements Are Two-fold

  1. Attend one (1) member meeting
  2. As an all-volunteer organization, the HPA requires its active members to volunteer a minimum of two (2) hours of their time.  Volunteer opportunities are as follows:
    • Complete a two (2) hour event shift at one of the these events:
      • Hyer Faster Stronger 5K Event
      • Children's Events
      • Parent Events
    • Host a member meeting or event in their home
    • If a member is looking to maximize their membership experience, they can also volunteer for these positions:
      • Small Playgroup Leader
      • The Hyer Faster Stronger 5K Committee
      • The HPA Board
