Membership

We are an all-volunteer organization serving families in the Hyer Elementary school area since 1954.  If you live within the school boundary lines (see boundary map or HPISD School Site Locator) and have a baby, toddler or kinder who will attend Hyer, we encourage you to join.  Once your youngest child completes their kindergarten year, you become eligible for our sustainer membership.

If you aren't a member, here are the top three reasons to join now!

  1. Build lasting friendships for you, your family and child(ren)
  2. Get your child kinder ready
  3. Be "plugged in" to relevant neighborhood news, resources and opportunities

How to Join

Membership renews annually on July 1 and is active through June of the following year; however, new members can join at any time throughout the year.  New memberships after January 1 may be pro-rated (the membership form will denote the pro-rated amount accordingly); however, new memberships applications submitted in May or June will be charge the annual membership amount but will expire with the next renewal period.  For example, a membership processed in May 2022 will renew on July 1 of 2023 (instead of July 1 2022).

While there are no requirements for any members, if a member is looking to maximize their experience, we encourage them to volunteer for one of these positions:
      • Small Playgroup Leader
      • Fundraising Event Committee Member
      • Parent Events Committee Member
      • Children's Events Committee Member
      • The HPA Board

Gold Member $1,025

NOTE: Eligibility for this membership is a former active Member (in good standing) whose youngest child is now in first (1st) grade or above

If you join after January 1, membership rates begin to pro-rate and will be reflected on the application when appropriate.  T-shirts are not a benefit for premium membership after January 1.
